I have just installed (without quick start) the News 2 template which came with Tab Manager GK3 and mod_new_pro GK4. I tried to set up the same three tabs on the right hand side just like the demo. But when the tab type is set to "module", I only get a blank display under the tab title. Setting the tab type to "article" works.

please help!

Hi

Please make sure the module that you want to display on the tabs is published on "tab.." module position and assign to all menu items.

I think this is what I did. I can see the titles of the tabs and they are in the right places; just not the content. Here is what I created:

in Gavick Tabs Manager v3:
created a group called "Home group" with 2 tabs:
(1) Popular
- tab type: module
- module position: tab1
(2) test
- tab type: module
- module position: tab2

Module "tabs module" of type mod_gk_tab
- module position: right top
- tabs group: "Home group"

Module "Popular" of type mod_news_pro_gk4
- module position: tab1

Module "Test" of type mod_news_pro_gk4
- module position: tab2

Hi

It's working now.
The problem was between News Show Pro and Advanced Modules Manager plugin.

Off Theme:
Why are you building your website based on Joomla!1.5 when the present version is J!2.5 and version 3.0 is at the door?

Sorry for the late response. I was waiting for a email notification from your response and did not look at this forum.

Thanks for looking into it. I can see that you disabled the Advanced Module Manager. I use that extensively to control where modules appear (not only associated with menus). Is there any other alternative without disabling the plug-in?

I have been hoping to move to 2.5. But the amount of content to move (plus modules and plugins which need to migrate) is giving me an allergic reaction. :-(

If i recall well, we find a solution to work properly on J!2.5 along with Advanced Modules Manager, but not on J!1.5 that already doesn't have any support or development.

Maybe this gives you the motivation ;)
If you are not sure, i recommend that you makes tests on local server like (e.g) XAMPP.
You have plenty of extensions that can easily replace the old ones that you use on your joomla!1.5 installation.

Cheers
