Installation of GK APPPphone hangs at DB install

I have installed the GK APPPhone Quickstart. When I get to the web browser installation page for database infromation, it keeps coming back to the screen with no errors. If I change the information at all, it behaves correctly and gives errors. I tried different variations like remove instead of backup and used the dmain name, but same issue. I have installed several direct downloads of joomla 2.5 with no problem to this same hosted server. Am I missing something ?
