Hi there,

I'm using your template "Gk_penguinmail", it works fine except having date texts in the URL, like this:

<MY_DOMAIN>/index.php/2012-03-14-03-33-51/2012-03-14-10-38-46/business-consulting

('business-consulting' is the alias of one menu item)

how can I remove the date texts so that it would be shown like:

<MY_DOMAIN>/index.php/business-consulting

Thanks for your support.

Please look at your main menu and check menu items aliases, when you change the alias you will surely get different URL.

Thanks, bkrztuk, but the problem is still there even I change the alias. Here the the problem example (Level-2/3 menu item) :
http://www.etudata.com/index.php/2012-0 ... consulting

But I find when the menu root item should be fine, like: http://www.etudata.com/index.php/contact-etu

Please help

Like "bkrztuk" suggested , joomla inserts a date in url if you did not specify anything in alias section. So url gets its value either from menu items or from article or k2 categories / sections. So check your article category/section alias to make sure it is set to an alias and that it is not empty.

Also clear any SEF urls , any joomla cache etc.

See you around...

Hi normanUK,

I have tried all the suggestions from "bkrztuk" and you, but all failed. It just doesn't work neither use existing demo articles nor my own ones. I have carefully checked the alias of article, menu item, or category (none "section" exists in my Joomla 2.5x), and cleared cache.

Please help to look into that. I can provide access if you would like to do that.

Many thanks.

Hi normanUK,

Perfect. It works just as you instruct. I can fix the default alias of External URL while changing it to other menu type (such as K2 - Category), then change it back again.

Thanks you so much.

3ilogic;
Go to your main menu and find your external url menu items. Change their menu type to such as K2 categories and you will see it shows alias with a date. Simply change the alias to what you want , which it will be part of the url and click on "save" then again change menu type from k2 categories back to external url.

See you around...
