Switching from MyFolio to Pixellove

We built our personal commercial site for our internet marketing company using myfolio about three months ago. Naturally- I am tired of it, and as a web designer- I have the ability to change it at no cost!

I installed myfolio as a quickstart for 1.7 a few months ago. Of course I dont want to do a quickstart with pixellove. Id rather install the template though the joomla extension manager and spend time reorganizing. However, when I try to install the template for pixellove, I am getting "There was an error uploading this file to the server."

I have installed templates on active joomla sites through the extension manager before. I have never installed a template over a gavick quickstart thought. Is there something I need to be doing????

You cannot install a quickstart with joomla installer. Quickstart is basicaly a joomla installator with our content and modules.

I installed MyFolio using quickstart.

I wanted to install Pixellove (the template .zip, NOT the quickstart) using the extension manager. Just like I would install any other template that is not a quickstart. It wasn't working.

In the meantime I have installed pixellove on a temp domain and redid the entire site. I will use akeeba to package it and deploy it on the domain I originally intended to use.

Ok. Check is path to /tmp folder is set correctly in configuration.php file and if this folder has permissions of 755 (try 777, somethimes server configuration do not allow scripts access 755)
