Hello, two of my websites have the same problems:

1. The pages with a single article are not editable from the frontend.
The articles on a blog page can be edited. This problem does not occour in other (standard) templates on the same websites.

2. On some pages in these same websites the template does not work at all (for example: http://eigenhandig.hisslink.nl). This also does not occour when I assign a standard template.

Hi

I've unpublished all modules but site is still blank. This look like something is wrong with a template itself. Try upgrade it to the latest version https://www.gavick.com/download/joomla- ... coffe.html

This didn't work eighter. I was already using the newest template.
I found out that this problem occours on all the article pages of all the Gavick templates. It's a big problem for me, because a lot of my clients use these templates and none of them can edit their websites anymore.

Hi

Editing is a matter of permissions in user groups. You need to allow login and edit for public. I'm using Gavick's MyFolio for my site and edit works without any problem. Also there were no more reporting of such issue from other users.

I was refering to a different problem where I cannot see Your page under http://eigenhandig.hisslink.nl . All I can see is on the screenshot attached. I do not know what that mean, but it's happening only with this selected template. But this is the only case I can see such error at all. Because of this I could not check what can be wrong with edit on Your site.

Postnote also has this problem: http://wiesbol.hisslink.nl/disclaimer
So thats a different site and a different template.

For the editing problem: I did not change anything to the user groups (don't even know how to do that). But even when I'm singed in as a super administrator I cannot edit anything.

Why doesn't anyone reply my posts? I thought I bought a subscription to get support.
I asked about this problem a month ago and still there is no solution. My clients are waiting for their websites to work correctly.
I would really appreciate if you give me the support I paid for.

Hi

Sorry, but I got unsubscribed from the thread and didn't get mails about Your replies. I've subscribed manualy so it should be ok now. I'm sorry for that, must be some bug in forum component.

If the same thing happens to 2 different templates than issue must come from server. Can You please tell me if right after installing a quickstart everything is ok. If Yes tell me the steps You do before this error occures. You are the only one reporting such issue.

Thanks for your reply!
I made a test website and installed the quickstart files. Evertything was working fine and I added my own css-changes, modules, plugins and components, step by step.
No problems until then.
After that I added my database with PHPadmin and there is the problem again: no edit icon on the frontend articles and no template showing on the exact same pages (for example: http://gavick.hisslink.nl/index.php/disclaimer).
In the original site I just added articles in a normal way, so I can't figure out what I've done wrong.

Hi

Database keeps configurations, so I believe this can be the problem. Unfortunately there is too much to check. If You just can narrow it down a little bit. Try restore old working database. Than update it with table after table. The last table added causing the error will probably be where the problem is. I bet on users or it's privilages.

I finally had the time to check the database. The problem seems to be in the content table. I couldn't figure out the exact problem though. Could you please check my file? Thank you

Hi

I really do not know. Table looks pretty normal to me. I've even replaced one of my installation locally and no issue at all.

Try not moving the site manualy but use Akeeba backup to install it on a new server. Maby the issue occured during uploading data.

Maybe it's the menu table. I had to update both, otherwise I wasn't able to see the changes in the content. Do you see anything in that file?

Hi

No. Still working on my installation. Please do like I've said. Use Akeeba beckup to pack whole site and than install it from this package. I suspect the reason of the problem is a broken file or something is mising from orginal installation.

I'm sorry, I don't understand. What site should I backup and where do I have to install it?
The sample data all worked, but when I override jos_menu and jos_content its not not working.

Hi

You've told me that You have overwritten menu and content tables from already working website. So my idea is to make a perfect copy of this working website. This way You will be sure all elements are fit together and eliminate the broke file or bad installation case.

What I meant was that the site was working when I had the demo content installed...

Hi

But You've mentioned that it was working on a different server. So is it possible that some files get corrupted during moving it ? Or maby it's because of server settings. Anyway I think You should try to move it one more time. Can You show me an instalation where this site is workng or is it placed localy ?

Hello. I had the sample data installed on a test server (http://gavick.hisslink.nl). That was working.
You advised me to add my own database, one table at the time. It was working fine until I replaced jos_content and jos_menu. These did not work on any server at any time.

Hi

Ok so we have a webstie working. Now You want to move this site to a different server if I'm not wrong. So please do not copy it table after table but use Akeeba backup extention. Create a backup package and install it in new location. This way all files and database will be moved.

The website is working with the sample content, but that is not what I want to show on the live website ofcourse. So this is not an option.

Hi

Ok. Can You please remind me what are You trying to do ? I thought that the problem is that You cannot move Your website, because it's not displaying even if a copy of it is working fine.

There are two problems:

1. The pages with a single article are not editable from the frontend. There is no pencil icon showing.
The articles on a blog page can be edited.

2. If I set the component paramaters of a page to show print, email and PDF icons, the page is not visible from the frontend anymore. It shows a 500 error.

Hi

I may have an idea. Please try in template's html folder change the name of 2 directories: com_k2 and com_content (I do not know which system are You using so it will be better to do this with both) to _com_k2 and _com_content. If it will be still not working than reason most probably will be comming from settings placed in database.

Cen You remind me the site url ? I thought it was http://eigenhandig.hisslink.nl , but it's not working.

That's it! Wow! :D
Minor detail... the layout is wrong now. The headers are different and the text doesn't fit op the page anymore (as you can see on the attachment), so I deleted the underscore for now.

Hi

I'm begining to think You are using a wrong template for Your joomla version.

But looking at your site everything looks ok. This issue is getting stranger and stranger ;/

Please try disable cache and check if it looks the same as on the screenshot.
