Starting with Joomla 2.5 already installed

Hello I have Joomla 2.5 already installed from my served.

I want install now "mystore" , but not found a way to install from joomla admin board (Manager Extensions).

So as i have already my date base created for joomla, my i installing the mystore template and the extensions by other way?

For instance via ftp. If yes what folders i have to change and where?

You need following 2 files if you have already installed joomla 2.5

gk_mystore_J!25.zip
gk_mystore_rest_files_J!25.zip


gk_mystore_J!25.zip is a install file for the template and can be installed from extensions manager.
gk_mystore_rest_files_J!25.zip is a support file and contains plugins/modules etc needed to complete your installation. You need to extract this file and see its contents.

As we do not have documentation to make new installations look same as our demo page i suggest you download and install following quickstart package in a subdomain. This package already contains joomla installation and installs same as joomla. Once you finish installing this quickstart package then you can use it as a reference when setting up module positions/settings template settings in your main site.

Thanks so much for the quick answer, so gk_mystore have been installed, but res_files give me a


"JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file"

May you give me some advise? Sure is a small fail from my side.

So, who can tell met how to install the rest_file?

Please follow instructions carefully ; ) , you need to extract rest_files , it is not a installation package.

I am sorry if i was not clear enough but I was referring to my instructions.

As stated in 2 of my posts in this topic "gk_mystore_rest_files_J!25.zip" is not a installable package file, it is simply a compressed file which contains modules/plugins and any psd resource files. So you need to extract this file and check its contents.

I am not familiar with all types of files

what should I do with .DS_Store file?
Can I install mod gk register via Extention installation?
Can I install plg.system.gkExtCache via Extention installation
Can I copy the files ithe folder Color somewhere in the Joomla folder?

Is there a description to install the rest_files?

You can delete all .DS_Store files.
All plugins and modules are installable from extensions manager.
Color folders contains photoshop psd files for certain images used in the template , which you can open / make changes export images.
