blurry image in mod_news_pro_gk4

Does anyone know why my image looks blurry when seen as a thumbnail via mod_news_pro_gk4 even the image was sized properly for the size of the thumbnail and is set with no stretch...

the images on the right with the text below... The images were created for 274px by 194px and set with no stretch and 100% quality but look blurry when put into the mod_news_pro_gk4 module

I see it's displaying properly with the same quality in the module. Can you please clarify?

I replaced them with images that do not have text on them. When they have text the text appears blurry in comparison to a custom html module.
