Delay Mega Menu Drop Down

Hi all,

Here is the problem... I want to change the delay between the mouse cursor being over the menu tab and the drop-down dropping down....

I want this because sometimes when I move my cursor across the page and it passes the nav menu tabs it opens the drop-down right up and leaves it open until I go and hover over it again... To stop this I was hoping to delay the process a little bit.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

I am using the Corporate 2 template on J1.5 if it makes any difference.

I had already tried changing that field, unfortunately it seems that it only affects the actual animation speed of the drop down from start to finish.

My problem is how long one has to hold the cursor over the tab before it opens. For example, at the moment the drop down opens/starts to open immediately, as soon as my mouse cursor passes over the main menu tab... I would like to put a delay in there so I could hold the mouse over the tab for let's say half a second, before the drop-down menu begins to open.

I've checked at the demo site and looks ok for me. Please tell me if this problem occures there. Maby I still do not get exacly what You are talking about.

Have You tried with a different menu system? It can be changed in template settings.

Yes, unfortunately it is the same with different browsers even on the demo page.... My question isn't so much about the menu staying open occasionally, it is more about the delay. I am not sure how to best explain it...

If you run your mouse around the screen really quickly and the cursor happens to pass over your navigation menu, the drop-down begins to open... the very moment your cursor touches it right?

I want to make it so that if I wanted I could hover my mouse cursor over the menu item for half a second before the drop-down even begins to open.

I don't think it is a fault of any kind, it is more of a personal preference.

Unfortunately even delaying will not work well in this case. Because javascript needs to take action if function was triggered. Try use a css based menu style. This way menu will open, but You will not have sliding effect.
