I made my site using the Quick Install as you can see here : http://www.creativerxn.com/

I have the "Sign in" and "Become a member" buttons in the Top_Menu of the template. I would either like to get rid of them or figure out how to use them. Are these run through K2? When I try and sign up I do not get an email. But yet it shows up in my users. What up?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Trust me they work very well, I would advise using them. As far as e-mail make sure your e-mail are set to be handled by php or what ever your server is using to handle email. You might also want to check your spam folder to make sure it wasn't sent there. Ps is this localhost by chance? then you have other issues.

Are they done through K2? I checked my spam and its not there. I am hosting through Hostgator would I have to update something on my Cpanel? Im a total newbie at this stuff. Should it work right out of the box. I have no updated any settings it is literally just the demo copied right now.
Thanks in advance

Hosgater sucks as you will find out when trying to add more components to the site.. too restricted.. for the money of Hostgator I would move to Arvixe.com as soon as possible. Thats where i send my customers.. customer service sucks but luckily you don't need them often.. not even for me and I tax the hell out of serviers when writting CSS.

As far as your problem it's something simple so don't start reinstalling anything. K2 is not going to send a e-mail that all comes from Joomla.. Even the K@ user uses the Joomla user to base it's K2 user on.

Yes Joomla should work right out the box when it comes to e-mails.. by default it uses PHP, and sense you installed the site on a apache server you should be good to go.

Try to use a email account that is not a admin account.. or go into the system and make sure you .. the admin can receive system e-mails. But make a dummy user and see if he gets a e-mail if you have an extra e-mail address to use.
