Need help with K2 not displaying images

Hi, hopefully someone can help me with this

I have a site up and running on www.ribsa.net for Irish Snooker.
It has been working grand up till yesterday when any images uploaded into items on K2 no longer display in either the module on the front page or in the article.
I also had pictures that were up there but when I click for them not to be featured items it loses the picture. If I re-select the featured button then they come back.

It's all fairly puzzling but hopefully someone can help

The only thing that did change is that a new editor was added and when submitting stories on Friday he uploaded the full size pictures straight from his camera. They were about 3.4mb each. Could this have caused the problem.?

It's obviously the sporter template and is on Joomla 1.5.23

Since the last post I checked the images on the server. For some reason all the new images were being saved with permissions set at 600 whereas the old ones were 644. I can't remember changing any settings that would affect this.
I changed them on the server to 644 and now it works fine. However new photo's still save as 600. How can I change this as i dont want to have to go to the server each time to manually change the permissions.
