Main Menu replace by Footer

I switched templates today from Musicity to Gamebox - both are J!1.7 with Jomsocial. When I first loaded the template the menus were fine. Not long after adding the rest of the modules and plugins (from the template dl) the main menu items disappeared - now the footernav info is in both. In admin, everything looks fine (in the Menu Mgr).

I removed then reinstalled Gamebox and it worked. For almost 24hrs. It just did it again, for no particular reason. Main menu gone. Footer menu in its place. The only thing I did was change the background image. And removing that did not help. I copied my Main Menu info into my footer menu, which got the right info back on top. Is there something else I can do to get it back for real?

What was the solution? I've got the same problem!

It seems to happen more often, especially when you've uploaded a website with demo data from Gavick.
It also happened with another website, however, I forgot the right solution.

Edit:

The site map is now shown at the exact position -> Footer_nav
However, the main menu is still disappeared.
