Gavick is not responsible for delivering templates that fit exactly to all of your/our needs.

Me personally: Yes, I hoped and wished it was a sports related template. But just because that would have saved me some extra work. So in the end its all about comfort. Now it´s up to us to take our hands on it.....

Besides that,I think the new cherry-template is simply underestimated because of the reduced number of modules used on frontpage. Often the templates are just judged or evaluated based on the "shi-shi" extras they bring with. Publish some News Show module and one module with suffix "note" and most of the critics will hype the template.

By the way: If I find a sympathetic ear, i would love to see the typograhy expanded with some box and/or bubble style like the ones your framework partner uses

Why was BS Sound in Melbourne used as the "model" on the template?
Just curious as I'm involved with sound (and vision) and I'm from Melbourne.

It's a cool template that has been produced well. But we've seen it before.

Aside, who needs another sports template?

We need revolution in website design - inclusive of the Joomla framework - something new in design that lives up to the potential of the web and html5 that breaks the rules and conventions.

One thing that's always disappointing is the lack of design for video and implementation of video (in Joomla templates). I.e meaningful, seamless, superb design and delivery (of video content).

@ rosebud: Me. But I am not about to forget, that 1 Billion other users don´t. It was just meant as a given example.

Concerning your video implemantation. Might it be right, that this is a qustion concerning third party components? Joomla itself -to me- seems not hostile to video-content ?!

I'm sure you're right about 1 Billion users etc. (I think you're referring to the demands of Sport right?) Yep! The market will always led!

And yes third party (video) components for Joomla exist.

But I'm talking about interoperability and such. And designs that inspire or lend to video (and sound) sensory goodness being exploited.

I personally think there is too much "ego" to work through to implement content into design (for joomla and other cms platforms).

It seems to me that the likes of Joomla and the design communities, which feed off it, should focus on the potentials of html5 and the "application within a web page" paradiagm to consider and embrace.

How you do that is another thing

Honestly, i'm surprise about some of you don't like the template . But hein... we cannot make everyone happy.

Most of the times, i'm the one that add demo content to our templates and when i first saw the final drawn of CherryDesign i was not very enthusiastic. It was cool, but not make me passion about it. Anyway, i learn with time while working with Robert that we must add time to see what behind of the design.

In 2 or 3 days of work, during it's creation, things got very different. The template shows is beauty by adding small details and the right demo content. And honestly, for me this is one of the most interesting templates build by Robert and definitely, it will be my choice for my blog. The dark theme for me was the cherry above the cake.

This is ideal for Portfolio, webdesign showcase, art and photographic presentation.
It have is own identity and a specific design, not suitable for all. So, we can say that, after all, it's normal that it doesn't look great to everyone.

Just one more thing... I love small details and this one is full of it.

Fantastic work! I don't have a project to use this template right now but it has a ton of potential for a starting point.


The problem you run into, is the members with no design skills or eye on how to customize a template. They just want a finished product, so that's their problem.

It's not that we don't like the template, I'm sure some customers of mine will love it. But Gavick has spoiled us by making templates that we COULDN'T make lol, and that's what we expect from you guys.

Make a templated with Gamebox mod headers (flexible) with MeMovie color Scheme in various colors and with light, medium, and Dark backgrounds.

Tack on Virtumart, Jomsocial, and you gouys wouldnt have to make another template for the rest of the year!!.. That templat would be so flexible as far as design and color ranges, a person could make it into anything.

I can certainly see that the new template is different, has some unique details and could make a nice blog look for a few people but then again if you're only blogging then most will be using Wordpress anyway, so is there really a need for this?

Joomla is a great CMS and as such most are using it for business related projects. Therefore it seems natural that many people will be looking for a more generic style that can be adapted for a number of different purposes.

It is good to see though that both a light and dark version have been included in this one - thanks for listening to members feedback on that particular issue.

What about the light style of gamer template???

the thing i love about gavick templates is you know you will get diverse options throughout the year... so many other template designers are so stuck on one style.

I really like the template of August.
However, I think that would be very helpful and nice, if possible, get an idea of how the next template because this would make sense for me to wait 15 days ... otherwise to finish a project I have to choose between those already released.
For example, this template will support K2, Jcomment and JoomSocial??
