SEF ON triggers error 404 on home mod links eshop

I have tried all, renaming the httacces, adding lines with if in some include files, using the examples on "Re: 404 Component not found error page" forum on joomla and nothing has worked, Teitbit helped me with a line of code to avoid displaying the links in the home page, unfortunately, I will need the SEF cfg on 'cos I have other link issues now (when you logout, i get the id=1 and the logout message is displayed below home, when you buy, and did a link from the latest products or randome products, the flypage displayes well, but when visiting the cart, you are eing send to home again, the email url checking the order, is wrong too, and this things i'm sure has to do with the SEF mode OFF, because it all worked well before.

I know it's supposed to be a newbie thing, but as far as im concerned, people in the joomla forum is getting this error and can't solve it as well. Any light would be appreciated.

The urls are as follows, first, the url your code is giving, and second the url SEF on is giving with the subsequent 404 error message

I check the links and the SEF on link shows (only here) a message that says

Your are currently browsing this site with Internet Explorer 6 (IE6).
Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

But I'm on safari, and checking in firefox and chrome.. how weird is that..?

The message is showing because the page cannot be load properly. I will need to see the site when SEFF is ON. I think this will be similar problem, some value is missing probably.

mm, the site is live now.., and I can't put the SEF on and wait until you see it (cause it can be days) and then turn it off.

I've created you an account with superadmin powers, I'm sending you the login info so whenever you're there, you can turn the SEF on and see what happens, and then please, leave it off. Even with this problems, we have managed to make a few sales in this days, turning the SEF on will make people think the site is down.

If i upgrade my membership to developer (which of course im not) would you fix all this things for me?
how long would it take? i'd like to have it fixed this next week.

My template changed from working to non working with no change at all done by me, or no one else, would you keep fixing it, when that happens? will you also detail me the things that needed to be doned or fixed to get it working properly? Is that what Exclusive professional support means? I will have it with any template?



Hope I can get an answer from you soon, I still have 100 days or so left, but i read that I can upgrade my subscription before it ends.

Are you using some specific SEF Component or joomla default one?

Im using the default SEF mode in global configuration.
When I put SEF mode ON, that's the link random products and latest products components give me.

When you click the link I put in here, it shows some stuff and says you need to update the Internet Explorer version , but when I click it through my website (clicking latest products and random products) I only get the Error 404 that says the component is not found.

When I went in vacations, the SEF mode was on and everything was working fine, but when I came back I get that error, with no change whatsoever in the global configuration nor somewhere else...

I've managed to make it work with SEF ON. The problem was that You did not changed the file htaccess.txt to .htaccess (as it states in instruction) and than set the SEF and MOD REWRITE to ON.

thanks to everyone again, it works perfect though im sure I followed, every instruction before..., but now I run into a new issue... the checkout button redirects to home below everything, this is absolutely new... with the teitbite fix the walk through worked fine...

So I searched and find it might have something to do with https, I checked virtuemart's settings, and i have the "account" and "checkout" options marked, and also the "prevent https connections" checked. I'm not sure how it was like this before, could it has something to do with SEF cfg? I feel like it's changes other things sometimes.

I noticed there's an ssl redirect, should it be there?
Could this be related to the SEF being turned on and off? I can't believe everything was working fine once, and now i keep running into cfg issues. Are these issues related to the shop being turned off and then on? it certainly changed the SEF cfg...

I do not think that turning it off and on had messed anything. The more reasonable reason can be some updates or code changes. So please ask this question on VM Forum, because it's a VM Security issue and I do not think if anyone form Gavick Team needed to deal with such problem.

The reason is that this page is redirectiong to site with itemid=1, but it should be itemid=0 (only the last from URL). So You need to find it in code and change. I can do it but actualy do not have much time. Can You wait?

Unfortunately You will need to ask this question at VM Forum. I was unable to find the place where param "Itemid=1" is being added into the end of the url.

I have tried to attache this param but everytime the url is being changed before the site displays.

Please ask them where on earth this value is being added in code. Than we'll deal with it.
