Hello, I have a problem with installing templates on my joomla.
I get this error:

Copy failed
JInstaller: :Install: Failed to copy file /var/www/vhosts/dobrojutro.biz/httpdocs/templates/gk_twn2/ajax.php to /var/www/vhosts/dobrojutro.biz/httpdocs/templates/gk_twn2/ajax.php
Error installing template.

I have to say that I have set all joomla permissions and they are checked and writable as they should be. The folders /templates/ and /gk:twn2/ and the file ajax.php are also set to permission 777. What else can be wrong?
THe site is hosted on a linux server (Linux 2.6.18-194.32.1.el5)
I installed the whole "gk_twn2_quickstart_J!17" also, it's joomla 1.7.0.

Hi

Sorry I do not understand. Are You trying to install TWN2 template in TWN2 quickstart ? If You have a quickstart than You do not need a template, but if You want for example reinstall it try simply override it via ftp.

Yes it is a quickstart, I installed everything right and expected the twn2 template to be installed and ready to use and select in the template manager. I can choose only from the default templates where none of them is TWN2.. THere's no point in overriding the template as I'm not able to select it in the joomla teplate manager, and I suppose this should be possible after installing the template manually. And I do that using the extensions manager. I just simply select the folder where the template is and press install - but then I get the error message saying this:

Copy failed
JInstaller: :Install: Failed to copy file /var/www/vhosts/dobrojutro.biz/httpdocs/templates/gk_twn2/ajax.php to /var/www/vhosts/dobrojutro.biz/httpdocs/templates/gk_twn2/ajax.php
Error installing template.

Hi

Quickstart cannot be installed using joomla installator. You need to copy the quickstart files to a clean server and run the joomla installation which is inside the package. That's all. When installation process ends You will have an exact look of our demo.

No. I copied the quistart file via ftp on the server. In a new directory with a new domain. Afterwards I went to the standard process of joomla 1,7 installation from this same package. Made a new database, connected it with joomla, and at the end deleted the installation folder and made everything what needs to be done with configuration.php. Than I went in my joomla backdoor administration, and was planning to select the template but it wasn't there. So I went to install it manually, after I checked all permissions etc. But that installation failed with the above mentioned error.

Please advise, what's to be checked next?

Hi

Sorry but I've just tried to install it again and had no problems at all. Please give me Your server specifications. The only think I can think of is a lack of server requirements to run joomla on it.

Looks like the problem was safe mode on the server.

I'll check it out and let you know
