Hello,
Can you please tell me is there any possibility to see online demo of Cherry Design template (better on Joomla 2.5, but even on Joomla 1.5 would be okay)? I am asking because usually it is much more convenient to have demo version when I am working with site on new template. There are many useful tips one can found on demo. Of course I can install two copies on different subdomains and use one of them as a demo, but I would be happy just to have a link on working demo online, thus I would not need to do extra installation and so on.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
sorry but this template is too old (it's from 2010) to show it on our website.
If you need DEMO you have to install QS on your hosting.

We also don't support templates with have more than 2 years old.

p.s.
I suggest to use another template from 2012 or 2013.

Hi,

Thank you very much for answer. I see, okay, I will install QS on subdomain and will use it as demo.

The issue is that site was already made on Cherry Design template (I assume few years ago) and now I was asked to move it from old Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 2.5. I saw that this template is rather old, but I was happy to see that you made an update for Joomla 2.5. So I will use it to keep same design.

Thank you again for your answer.

I know this template is old, but it still can be useful, maybe our support boys still can help you with this theme if your question would be simple, not about customization or how to implement RWD into.

Yes, I think this template even being old looks very nice and interesting as for me. And I can understand why owner wants to keep its design. Actually I like many of Gavick templates designs and I really like the quality of them. As for me I found them easy to customize, for example like changing something in CSS of template etc.

You are very kind. But I don’t think that I will dare to bother support with any other questions about this template. I already feel guilty that I took your time on question about demo. Sorry. And from my humble experience most of questions with Gavick templates are easy to solve and even if some issues appears the answer can already exist for example on this forum.

Thank you again for your kind help and advises.

I really find gavick.com documentation is very good written and for sure very helpful. And I like that in this documentation there are even answers on some “special” questions, not just the usual common info. For example in section about CSS overriding (and I think how CSS customisation realised in Gavick template is a very good example of taking care about users – it is simple, and clear, and fast) this part: “Which option is better and when to use it? If you need few small changes in stylesheets use Custom CSS code field. If you need more changes more then 10 lines of code use override.css file.” Very clear and useful information.
(Hmm, just noticed, maybe here in part “When it won’t work?” should be also written that it also can be issues with override if in template CSS, in corresponding line there is !important CSS Declarations. But maybe I am wrong or this is not very useful info. Sorry)
And I also like that there are a lot of tips and advises, which sometimes even not connected directly to Gavick templates, but common for Joomla and thus very useful, like tips on additional useful extensions etc.
Oh, I think I am far from the topic theme. Sorry. I will finish flooding here. ;-)
If I will have any ideas about Gavick documentation I will inform you for sure. But as for now I found there everything that I was needed. Except maybe that I have noticed that in some templates modules have different height depending from browser. Usually, mostly difference between Opera and Firefox, Chrome. But again, I don’t think that this is even a question for support. If it is really bothers one can write some additional lines in CSS for Opera browser, for example. Sorry for offtop ;-). I promise I stop on this. And thank you again. Have a nice evening.

Wow! You are fast! ;-) And this is really something - that you take to attention words of some “Fresh Boarder”, thank you. I really not sure, is this info important or not. It is just from my own experience. As I am very far from any good knowledge in CSS, html, not telling about php, so when I first faced this it took some of my time to understand where the solution. First I wrote my changes in “Custom CSS code” window. It not worked. Then I tried override.css file. Again not worked. Only after that I have noticed the !important rule in original CSS code of the template. And so, I just changed the original CSS to make my changes work. So as for me such things was not clear from the start. I know that it is because I am nube and I am sure that most of users did not face such simple issues. Sorry, I promised that I will stop offtop here. I just could not resist to say thank you for taking my words to attention. This is very nice of you.
