Hello!

I am trying to create and save template settings for internal pages in News Joomla 3.0.

I create the settings, save the configuration as "interior.json" through the Basic Settings Configuration Save button. Although the file looks like it is there in the Load Configuration dropdown, it does not appear in the config template file. When I try to load the new config file (interior.json) it just takes me back to the details screen and the default_config.json is loaded.

I checked the file permissions and the config file is 755, while the default_config.json is 644.

What else can I do? I have spent a good deal of time configuring this news template, focused on the homepage. If I can't create different settings for the interior pages (mostly different widths for the sidebar and inset) it won't work.

Thank you thank you thank you in advance for your help.

Can you please open your non working config file ( interior.json ) with an editor such as notepad++ and check its content is similar to below.

Following is only part of the file for example purposes and it is not full content.
Code: Select all
{"template_color":"3","default_layout":"default","layout_override":"","template_width":"1230",

You can also try to browse to interior.json file from browser such as Firefox. If you can't please check config folder exists and the file is there.

Please replace with your sites address.
Code: Select all

Thank you for your reply....I was almost ready to give up on you guys!

When I create a new .json file it does not exist (ie does not show in cpanel file manager, ftp or navigating to URL) yet it is listed on the template basic settings "load configuration" dropdown.

Even so, there is one file in addition to default, homepage.json, which DOES exist (and looks similar to default but with different settings) but does not load when I hit "load configuration." It just goes back to the template details page and the default.json is back loaded.

And in the mean time, I cannot finish the site until I can format the internal pages.

I am more than happy to give login or ftp details if you can help!
