adding a new template

I'd like to move to another gavick template. I am currently running musicity and would like to use pixellove.
I like the quickstart solution but I don't want to lose existing information on the site/database. I am using ja job board and a few other components and don't want to disturb these.
Should I rather simply copy the template files or am I able to quickstart without overwriting the database?

Hi,
I advise install only template using joomla install extension manager. And then switch template. If you would like to check some settings install clean pixellove template somewhere even on localhost and compare settings.
