Facebook Authentication Plugin Not working

Hi,

We purchased the joomla 2.5 template (gk_league_news) 2days back and i see a plugin of facebook authentication which was the reason of buying this template and it doesn't seem to work. I have added the facebook app id to both plugin and in template. I see the login button but NO action is happening. Please take this as priority and let me know the next step.

One more question. I need to get the person details who logs in through facebook. how to get this please ?

I think you should try disable auto-register mode in the plugin then whenever an user logins with FB he will be asked to provide details..

I still have problems in login. I have following problems.

1. I have given the following url in the FB App. However it logs in but will not redirect.

2. There is not logout option which comes in the site.
3. Even if i log in through facebook. It allows me to login with joomla login !
4. If all above is solved i would require the place of FB user details.

Please let me know on all the above. If Gavick's FB really works fine it would be great for me to use OR else tell me frankly so that i can search alternative.

What is wrong in my APP id ? Can you please tell me what you have used for redirection ? and what i need to change in my app.

Also i need to capture the facebook ID OR any information of the person in my redirection page. How can i do this ?

The bug is that, the FB plugin only works if you enable auto-register, but by enabling this setting, users won't be redirected to provide their information to register when they login with FB. This also explains the question regarding retrieving FB IDs.

One advice as you are working on the upgrade.

When you are inserting the FB user into #__users table, you can include the FB id in params, so that it will be handy for any developer for his/her future use in development.

if i place a module in register position it is taking me to the default joomla registration page. How can i change to my custom link/ page ?

In the login pop up, the login-redirection works fine which i mention in the login module but the non pop-up version i.e. components/user will not take the redirection page which i mention in the login module.

Why is this happening, i guess the components/user is a replica in gk_league_news template.

If you configure the login module, the settings are affected for the popup only, in the actual login page, it is not a module but a page of users component which you should find the setting in Options of that component.

There is a login form inside this path "templates/gk_league_news/html/com_users/login/default-login.php"
when ever user enters the restricted page/ hits the login button on popup without filling - he will be redirected to the login page of above path. Here the redirection should happen as per the redirect url mentioned in the login module in backend.

All the file under the template folder are to override default displays of pages, for example the file you have mentioned is to override default login form of Joomla, it doesn't access user data or do any logic there but the users component, so you can't customize it to change the redirection. I hope you understand.
