Why Does "Date Published" Display No Actual Date?

After installation with the default articles, I noticed articles displayed do not show the date they were published, only "Published Date." How do I display the actual date, such as Dec. 24, 2011?

I'm using Joomla 1.7.3 and Chrome 16.0.

This bug is actually on Quickstart corporate - what did you do to solve this bug - Thanks for your feedback, I can`t find any solution.

The problem is in the language files. The main language file forgot to add "%s" so that the date string would print. I found this by searching Google, btw, and without help from this "support" forum.
