Crop thumbnail images to center without any distortion in GK4

Is it possible to crop the thumbnail created by News show pro so that all of the thumbnails produced come out the same size?

If the article pictures are different size proportions then all the images come out different sizes... Of course you can switch off keep aspect ratio and make the thumbnail width and height as desired but that doesn't crop the image it just fits the image to max dimension.

As i understand Crop definition, you don't have this option on News Show Pro GK4.

In other hand, if you have different sizes pictures you will need to select "Create thumbnails" option and also set "Keep aspect ratio" on. By turning on this option all thumbnails generated will have the same width to you choose and the height will be calculated.

Sorry - the image I attached was just for reference purposes, those aren't the settings I am using - I didn't notice create thumbs was off - but I am fully aware that needs to be on.

Does anyone know if it is possible to add some code to make crop an option? I'm desperate!

Seen as it is possible to restrict title and body character length (which is presumably an option so that the mods height doesn't get ridiculously out of control) I think a lateral step would be to introduce crop in the future. It would make things a lot easier when trying to generate featured content from standard articles.

At this moment it's not possible since it change deeply core files.
Maybe in future versions
