Thank you for News Show Pro GK4. The module is very well done, but we're having one problem that prevents us from using it on our sites:

The original article formatting gets removed, and all article text gets placed inside of a paragraph tag.

For example, line breaks, paragraph tags, and bold tags are part of the original article, but these formatting marks are not included in the News Show Pro GK4 HTML output.

Please let us know if we're missing something. Thank you again.

@teitbite

Thank you for your help. I enabled a test page for you:

http://ChristianScienceWisconsin.com/ab ... est-layout

The client wants the formatting on the front page to match the formatting in the articles (bolding, line breaks, italics, etc.) Currently, as you will see on the test page, I can't get NSP GK4 to do this.

I love your component. Please let me know how I can help.

Thank you again!

Hi

Taking as reference this page http://christiansciencewisconsin.com/spiritual-articles

News Show Pro GK4 layout should be something like this:

Article layout

Amount of pages with: 1
Amount of columns: 1
Amount of rows: 4

Links layout

Amount of pages with: 1
Amount of links: 2
Amount of links columns: 1

Cheers ;)

@Seichinha

Thank you for your quick response.

The problem we are having is that the formatting from the articles is not being shown on the NSP GK4 front page.

EXAMPLE:

The words "Milwaukee, WI" are bold in the original article:

original_article_with correct_bold_letters.gif

But in the NSP GK4 front page, "Milwaukee, WI" is NOT bold:

nsp_gk4_with_incorrect_no_bold_letters.gif

We would like the bold letters to show in the NSP GK4 output, but they do not display in bold.

Thank you again!

i started this topic and sent you my site as requested but didn't get replies to mine. i see replies to someone elses site that joined this topic. my issue is more in keeping line breaks. it throws it all into one paragraph and if i list things it doesn't keep list items on separate lines. can you please help me? i have this problem in several sites where i use it but sent you link to one site chefpointcafe.org

i love your templates and modules but would really like help with my original issue

@cspub:

We did receive a reply, but it did not address the issue.

Your issue and our issue are the same: the plugin does not keep the formatting from the source article.

@GavickPro:

Will you please let us know how we can help you understand this issue? We would love to use this component, but it does not keep the formatting from the source article, and instead wraps the entire article in paragraph tags.

Please let cspub and me know how we can help.

Thank you again!

Just comparing the links :

Example Article: Just Do Me Like That
From Menu item to article: Which works.
Code: Select all
http://www.gonegator.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3&Itemid=193&lang=en

From News Pro to Article: Which doesnt work.
Code: Select all
http://www.gonegator.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3:just-do-me-like-that&catid=7:makin-some-noise&Itemid=193&lang=en

From Article link while in same article page: Works
Code: Select all
http://www.gonegator.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3:just-do-me-like-that&catid=7:makin-some-noise&Itemid=193&lang=en

Copy and paste urls into new browser page: Works
Code: Select all
http://www.gonegator.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3:just-do-me-like-that&catid=7:makin-some-noise&Itemid=193&lang=en

Using other Article as example:
Article : 2005 Tour

No menu item :

From new pro: Doesnt work...
Code: Select all
http://www.gonegator.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5:2005-tour&catid=7:makin-some-noise&Itemid=101&lang=en

As you can see its not a news show pro error but more likely positions setup for other modules. If it was a url error it wouldnt work in examples above. As same url works in different way suggests there is an error or a setting somewhere in your joomla installation...

I would suggest clearing your joomla cache first, then clear or purge any SEF urls created then rechecking your module settings....

Cleared cache, not using SEF... moved to different locations... then back...

STILL no change.

Ok i have checked your website, and this is what happens...

Because you do not have any menu items other then home so any articles you view was showing in as if they belong to Home menu item therefore still showing the modules.

In our test article because article had its own menu item modules was not showing on that page.

I have created 2 more menu items for your article categories. Now when you view any article belonging to those categories modules does not show as it should be.

Now you just need to configure layout in blog view of menu items "Makin Noise " and " News "...

See ya around...
