News Show Pro, no animation: module.getProperty is not a function

I have installed gavick newsShow Pro 4.. This is indeed a great module!
The only thing that doesnt work is the animation part.
When I look in the firefox debug console I see, module.getProperty is not a function. I tried every combination of the "external files" settings, using force, no force, automatic, mootools 1.1 or 1.2 etc etc. I use the latest version of this module 2.3.1.

You probably have script conflict with between jquery and mootools.

Animation is working now, but your template script still generates a small error.
It was not working because your template doesn't have mootools support library. So it's necessary to force mootools in one NSP GK4 module and set the other as "automatic".

Important! Don't force mootools more than once.

The error comes from usual conflict between mootools and jquery libraries.
Try install some plugin for no conflict on jquery (search joomla extensions directory)

My website has conflict that I was guessing like you said "between mootools and jquery libraries." that I can not use some functions of GK4 and the conflict limited website layout with some other extensions or even with joomla core like the order of content

Since I installed this component it's working perfectly, but since yesterday the animation stop to work.
When I click into Next/Previous buttons nothing happened also.

I receive your email, but i reply here
I also see the module working well, but i notice that your template is mootools based.
The module set as "automatic" on mootools support it should disable itself, but if you have still have problems, try "force disable" option of mootools on NSP parameters.
When mootools javascript library is called more then once, most probably you will have problems with something.

This means that you have some extension running on frontpage that is in conflict with NSP GK4 module.
Please try "force disable" mootools support on NSP or show us your website, so that we can find the probable cause.

Thanks for an excellent free extension for Joomla 1.6! I may have found a solution to the problems described above.

I had roughly the same problem with News Show Pro GK4: it works great in Beez2, but the animation doesn't function in any third party J1.6 template (such as JP Genesis), even when I turned off all other modules and plugins that could possibly conflict with News Show Pro. It turned out to be a script problem. I've solved it by adding this line to the head of the template:

JHtml::_('behavior.framework', true);

This forces Mootools 1.3.1 to load - and now News Show Pro 4 works like charm.

@gavikusr09 - if you need custom work like this you can contact with me via dziudek[at]gmail[dot]com, because migration News Show Pro GK4 from MooTools to other framework like jQuery is possible.

@dziudek I bet there will a lot more users interested in News Pro GK4 module made with jQuiry [more and more templates are made with jQ] as you can see above users experience problems with load time and incompatibility of Moo and jQ. Also it will be selfish and expensive to have it made by you just for myself as a custom module, since i know your a busy guy. So i assumed you would be interested in making it for sale on your site as a customized module. Thus problem solved and you will have additional income. If you are too busy I might consider Joomlancers freelancer, that's why i posted a comment here to hear your opinion. Thank you.

This problem is really annoying me !!

My website is not upload yet, so i can't show you....

I work with the Black and White template of Gavick, with news show pro 4 and gk image show modules.

The problem is just in the frontpage, I need the news show pro animated for the latest news, it work in all pages except the frontpage.

I think the problem is in the template, I tried other news scrollers with JavaScript but it's the same problem also !!! (just in the frontage)

Do you have any idea how to fix this???

If you have problems only on frontpage, it is most probably that you have some extension, module or plugin that is causing this conflict. But we need to see it running, because it's pretty difficult to imagine what is the problem... in fact, it can be several causes.

Hi, i'm also having problem with NSP module. It's working great on frontpage, but on VM pages the animation doesn't working.

I tried to set function Using mootools --> Force disabled, but that didn't work for me :/

Have You tried to force using module script than mootools ?

Something is interferring with mootools.

I see You are using JQuery also, so the conflict is not a coinsidence.
