Read More introtext limit by <hr id="system-readmore" />

Hi there,

Just wondering, is there a way to manually limit the amount of introtext displayed before the Read More button?

i.e. show everything until you hit the <hr id="system-readmore" /> in the article regardless of word or character counts.

Is this possible?

There is such option in the module settings. You can choose the number of words or chars to show in the view of the article. Please see helpfile or look Yourself in "Article Layout" section.

Thanks for your reply, I knew about that setting but it's not what I'm after.

I don't want to be limited by the number of words or characters, instead I want to be able to manually set the limit by using the system readmore tag.

This is because I don't want to have my introtext chopped off mid-sentence. I would also like to be able to have, for example, 1 sentence introtext for one article and 3 paragraphs for another.

Is this possible?
I'm happy to attempt a code hack if there is no way around this otherwise.

I believe I have seen such problem before. I was hacking the code to prevent cutting the text So exacly opposite.

Set the limit to 99999 and try with the readmor breaker but in K2 items. I believe this should work.

Unfortunately I'm sourcing my articles from Virtuemart and it doesn't seem to work.

Any other ideas?
