Hi!
I'm using gavick news pro GK4 on several sites and performances are usually good. But now I'm trying to use it in a new home page and performances are definitely lower: page takes 5-7 seconds BEFORE to start be loaded!

I'm using 5 GK4 modules inside a gavick tabs manager gk3: every single module filters just one K2 category.

The homepage where the modules are located is: www.romeverywhere.com/undercostruction (please, consider it is a "work in progress" website, not yet online, so dont mind the mess down there! :P ).

Of course, if I disable the modules, the page takes a "regular" time to be loaded.
Have you any idea about the reason of this low performances? Is it maybe because every module reads several articles and pages?

Thanks you very much for you help!

Hi

I can see You have solved it Yourself. Site loads just fine but the tab manager with the NSP module dissapeared.

Yes you are right, I removed it and I tried to use other solutions. In fact it's basically impossible for me to use it in THAT page.

Even if I put just 1 gk4 module inside the Gavick Tabs Manager gk3, home page takes many seconds to start be loaded: basically (from debug) I see it's queries' fault.

I also tried to put a non-Gavick module inside the component (the one I'm using now, which is very fast), but the result is the same. Then I tried to use Joomla categories (instead of K2 ones) and... it worked like a charm! Fast as usual.
So I guess it doesnt read K2 categories so fast or - simply - k2 tables inside the DB dont give results in a fast way.

Anyway this time I need to use K2 and I cant use this great component. Any suggestion from you? Do you already know if this is a known issue with K2? Any workaround?

Thanks a lot! :)

Hi

No I have nothing to add. I would have done the same thing :)

Unfortunately host servers and especialy databases have limits and it's even more problem on joomla when You use multiple modules which uses the same queries couple of times. But there is nothing to do about it.
