Need Help with Image Creation

You'll probably consider this a customization question but I need to ask and maybe someone in the forum can help! Or it can be taken off line.

When I use the NSP GK4 module for displaying a single K2 Item, the image that is created is written to the appropriate directory but the file permissions are set to 640. Therefore the image will not display. I'm sure this is an issue with my host, but they won't change it and therefore I have to find the image file and change the permissions manually. This won't work in a production mode. Therefore, my question...

Can anyone recommend a code change to the PHP file that would set the file permissions correctly? Also, where would this be inserted? I don't know PHP very well, as you may have guessed.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
