blank page after installation

After installing the latest News Show Pro and photoslide my Homepage does not appear anymore. Got a blank page. I remember in the News Show System Check there was a message "problem with php.ini".

Blank page in the frontend persist after deinstallation of all Gavick apps. Backend works fine.

What did happen???

Could someone help me out please.

I have no access to the frontend anymore and it is definitly caused by installing two gaverick extensions.

Can you provide a link to your site? did you clear your browsers cache and joomla cache?

Caches are already cleared.

Try to enable the joomla default template and see if anything changes, also check if there is a problem with index.php file (better replace from the original zip file)

Replacing with the standard templates did not help.

Replacing the current index.php with the standard index.php from the original Joomla Download did fix the problem. Frontend is now visible.

But what did happen? I would like to use Gavick extensions news modul GK 4. I remember the message "problem with php.ini" in the Gavick GK4 system check. But I don't have an own php.ini in my Joomla root. Nevertheless my host (1+1) allows an own php.ini.

Are there any special settings necessary in an own php.ini to get GK News Pro 4 running???

I tried overwriting with the original joomla index.php.... Didn't work for me.

When I use K2 articles or K2 categories to populate the module, I get a blank screen. I switched it to Joomla Articles and I get No articles found?

But my purpose for using this is to work with the K2 component.

Any ideas??? No one responded back. Do you need more information?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with K2 issues. Perhaps other users are much more experienced..?
