Why the two cache directories?

GK4 creates two cache directories:
/cache/mod_news_pro_gk4
/modules/mod_news_pro_gk4/cache

And uses onlye the second one. Why?

NSP GK4 create thumbnails on /modules/mod_news_pro_gk4/cache/.
On first one, i suppose it's necessary... but again, i'm not the programmer.

First directory is created automatically by the Joomla! not by the module.
