I can reproduce this problem with NSP GK5 v1.1, Joomla 2.5.9.

To set up my test, based on previous comments, I've done the following.

Search Engine Friendly URLs = NO
Global Configuration > System > Cache Settings = OFF
Menu > Menu Manager: Select all and Rebuild.
Menu > Menu Manager > main menu: Select all and Rebuild.
Site > Maintenance > Clear Cache: Cleared everything

I am using the NSP module in a custom position and doing a loadposition in a Customer HTML module. On a side note, I have reproduced the problem when I change the module from the custom position and put it into a "normal" template position, the problem persists.

The two URL's for comparison are as follow

BAD - from NSP
http://mydomain.com/new/index.php?optio ... t-sermons&&Itemid=21

GOOD - from menu navigation
http://mydomain.com/new/index.php?optio ... t-sermons&&Itemid=59

In this case Itemid=21 main menu item which is where the module is located, but Itemid=59 is the correct menu.

I've also see similiar issues when the NSP is in Standard Mode, or News Galery mode, if that matters at all.

I will be glad to provide admin access to the site if that will make troubleshooting easier.

Thoughts?

Hi

Our module is using JRoute function to create links so it's joomla which is responsible for adding Itemids. I think Your problem is connected with a menu structure. Please read this article. It may help: https://www.gavick.com/documentation/qu ... s-working/

I read your link.

Indeed, my links were to items in subcatagories that were not linked into a menu structure directly. I've added menu items directly to two samples of the subcatagories and they seem to be working as expected.

A cumbersome work around, but it does works. Thanks! I'll let you know if I have any more issues.

Hi

This is not a workaround. Actually this is how joomla works. A different solution to this is by using some SEF component and establishing a category link which is not used in menu, but there are no free SEF component out there :(

This has solved my problem. Thanks.

BTW - No insult to you or Gavic intended! I'm just grumpy that you can't more easily display categories/articles, and I know it's a Joomla issue. (Ironically, I figured this out in the J1.5 variant by tracing the code, and came to the same conclusion. How I missed it here, well, I digress...)

I have found that when designing, it's very helpful to have your categories and menus/submenu align reasonably closely, so that adding the categories to menus is easier, for jsut this reason. I just wish that Joomla allow an easier way for those two concepts to be more divergent. (hence the swipe about a workaround.)

Thanks again.

Hi

Designers are using a static content and menu structure so they are sure each layout page is styled. So it's up to users which layout they want to use, we just need to be sure any option is styled.
