Can't show K2 article thumbnails when no K2 image uploaded

Hello,

I read in the configuration that if I set Thumbnail image type to "Use K2 images", it will show the first article image as the module article thumbnail UNLESS an image is uploaded into K2 for that article. My issue is, the module will not show K2 article images unless I set Create Thumbnails to "On". However, if I turn on create thumbnails, the module will NOT show the article image as the module article thumbnail if no K2 image is uploaded. So basically, I only have the option to use K2 images or article images, not both.

Is there a way to display article images if no K2 image is uploaded? Or is there a bug with the Create Thumbnails setting?

I actually figured out the issue. I didn't realize you cannot create thumbnails for images no hosted on your own server.

Is there a workaround for this? I am migrating over 1000 posts from another site and cannot save all of the images.
