Is there a way to show weblinks from a category in NSP GK4? If not, what would it take to do so?

No, the News Show Pro is designed to display articles/products only from supported extensions, you can surely find some modules designed only for weblinks.

no, not really. support for weblinks is very limited and doesn't give the nice pagination options that the NSP has.

Getting a list of weblinks in a module is easy enough, but having the layout options like NSP would be really great.

What would it take to customize the module to do this?

The module is released on GPL license so you can download it and modify source to display weblinks.
