I'm using several nsp modules on my site. each one with the same settings concerning thumbnails. I have disabled the thumbnail cache (cache = 0).
there are two things that I don't understand:
1) thumbnails are still created in the cache folder though cache is disabled.
2) each instance of nsp creates its own thumbs. so far so good. but as you can see from the screenshot some of the instances create thumbs with 666 rights others with 644 rights. module with ID 141 for example always creates thumbs with 644 rights. module 139 always creates thumbs with 666 rights. module settings are - as I said before - the same...
