Looks like it's a server issue. When I enabled showing errors I got this message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /home/kameratest/public_html/components/com_s2framework/vendors/phpthumb/GdThumb.inc.php on line 1181

Try change this parameter in server setting. Or try disable the the extention from Sobi which is causing the memory overload.

This error is coming from jreviews framework, but dont give any problems.

I`ve disabled Sobi Pro and 5 other components..but the issue is the same.

The issue is with the module News Show Pro GK4 ....


I`ve disabled the articles that have the image from K2 items, and the ones from K2 with image in the articles, shows fine... So its something in the module and K2 item images thats wrong.


Also in the News Show Pro Gk4 module I cant enable "make thumnails" as this will give a white page of death on the frontpage...

We have multiple components that uses the GD library flawless, so its NOT the error..

Please make sure You are using the latest version possible. Please send me an access to joomla panel and ftp if possible, so I'll be able to report it to programmers for check.

I've installed the module on my copy of this template and without all Your modules it works fine, so it has to be a problem when all this modules are allocating the memory for GD lib usage. Try maby set higher value for memory in php.ini file:

Hi teitbite... First of all thanks for helping out...

With regards to memory limit it cant be that, its set to 256mb which should be sufficient.

And the test site in joomla 2.5.1 (mentioned in the mail I send you ) is a CLEAN quickstart installation.
with nothing else installed, and that dont work either with regards to the problem with showing thumbnails of K2 item images...

Does this also happen when using Joomla Articles with images ?

Just a few pointers in here, the memory limit is not the size of the file, it is memory in usage while doing a process so If the resizing process is eating up too much memory, you usually get the error message, so in our case if you have lots of k2 item and cache is cleaned so when resizing all of those files you might hit the limit or if original files resolutions are high resolution then again to process such files memory usage gets high so you might hit the limit again...

Other factors are in case if something is wrong with the image type or certain images might be corrupted and causing errors, so it is easy to upload new images to test that out as well as checking image names using lowercase names no spaces etc.

We can findout if latest version is causing such problems and this can be tested by using earlier versions of the module if you have it available in your system. If that causes same problems then i am afraid problem is related to your server config or your setup.

This needs lot of testing as you can see, see you around...

No it works perfect with images from joomla articles...BUT on the live site we have the issue that we cant turn "Create thumbnails" to on...Because we cant do that, the thumnails is very ugly and out of proportions.

we dont use cache on anything, so maybe I should try to put cache on the module...

I`ll try to set the memory limit up some more, just to see what happens...

Well if you create 2 articles both with same image , one with joomla and the other with k2 and its working fine with joomla article images then i suppose problem is not memory related. So this narrows the list to k2 and NSP GK4.

This is a really hard problem. I cannot send it to programmers because it's not a bug insid the module since You are the only one with such issue. Please try narrow with which extentions this conflict occures by unpublishing a modules one after another since NSP displayes site.

Anyway I still think it got something to do with memory limit, but maby not inside NSP, but using NSP with something else. This error didn't happened with no reason:
