I am having the exact same issue. I have a website that was originally J1.7 and was then upgraded to J2.5. When that upgrade was done was when the popups stopped working. I haven't had any issues with any other components or modules and their popups in the backend.

For further testing, however, I installed a clean installed of J2.5 and installed this module and the popup working just fine.

So I went to the extent of disabling every single module, component, and plugin on the site that isn't working to just have core elements enabled and still popups do not work.

I have also uninstalled and re-installed the entire module with absolutely no luck whatsoever. There is clearly some kind of conflict with the module and something else on the site, but I can't figure out what.

Working site: http://screencast.com/t/davsewOcYT

PLEASE HELP! We launch in a day and I can't get the images updated that need to be updated. I'm so stuck we may have to rebuild the entire site to get this one little function working. Very frustrating.

PS. I am using the latest module install. Just downloaded it this afternoon.

Okay, so I fixed it!! Somehow... What I started realizing was that it might not be an issue with conflicting plugins, but rather a CSS issue. So, I opened up Firebug and saw that the div id #sbox-window was still set to display none, which was being applied by /roothttps://d177r47olzwju3.cloudfront.net/media/system/css/modal.gz.css around line 34.

I removed that line and the popup started to work, but probably a little too well. The popup was in the middle of the screen permanently! Well that makes some sense since I had just removed the hidden attribute which was setting that position to display: none. So I added it back to the CSS file, re-uploaded it to my server, thinking that I hadn't found the solution. But I checked just in case and looky there! It was working!

Like I said, I changed nothing but removed that one line from mobal.css and re-added it, but that seemed to do the trick and it's all up and working now.

What I would say is that there's likely something in the folder /root/media/system/ that is causing the issue only when you do a Joomla update from 1.7ish to 2.5. If you run into this problem, try overwriting that entire directory with a clean install. Obviously back stuff up and be sure you're updating that directory with an identical install version of Joomla, but I would bet after you do that it should be fixed.

Gavick, any idea why I experienced what I did and do you know why this is an issue for people that update from J1.7 to 2.5 only?

PS. I've attached that directory mentioned above as a zip file from a clean install of Joomla 2.5.0 for easy access. If you're not using 2.5.0 currently, then don't use this file! Download a clean Joomla install of the exact version you're currently using.

Hello,

I have the same bug in admin (with the Image module Show GK4)

When I try to select an image for a slide the screen becomes dark but the popup does not open.

Did you find an issue in this problem?

Thank you

I have not found any problems with my fix. Hopefully this fix will remain permanent or will be fixed some other way in future updates by Gavick.

This is no longer working. I've repeated the steps I took on my previous post and it didn't work this time. I am really not sure what to do at this point. We can't use the module at all without getting this fixed.
