pagination without mootools and javascript - The web site is too heavy

Is it possible use the simple pagination without mootools and javascript? I think that is very heavy a web site with 12 article for page and the pages are 10.
12 article x 10 pages = 120 articles to upload togheter!
I'd like a pagination like joomla style, upload the second or third pages when I click it

I think it is a common problem
