I really don't think anyone is reading these posts. Four weeks since this was posted by someone (I am also curious to know about this) and not one single response from anyone. Gavick should clarify whether we are wasting our time here on this forum or if there is anyone who is watching it. If yes, why so many posts are unanswered for months? Should we just forget about it and open a ticket for even the most minor problem that we are having?

I am very new to Gavick and so I am not familiar with their response time or their willingness to support their customers but what I have seen so far is not very encouraging. The forum is absolutely a waste of time. I have posted two questions (2 days ago) and not only there is no response to them, even the number of times they have been viewed is so low that it only indicates that no one comes here anymore for asking or offering support.

A clear explanation by Gavick is highly in order, IMHO, so none of us waste our valuable time here.

I don't mind waiting a day or two for a response but having no response at all is just poor business choice. If the question is repetitive (and therefore annoying), then there should be a very comprehensive FAQs section where moderators could just point us to a previous post for solution.

I still got no answer and I realy believe (like you) that asking questions is a big waste of time ...
but to help you a little from what i manage to find out myself ...you should keep the content of the news in something like 190-200 characters (where the option reads to limit the display amount of article) and also try not to have anything very small. What I have understand is that you can not set the size ...it is beeing set from the text inside ...

Hope i helped

I have spent hours trying to adjust the number of characters/words in these modules to get them aligned but it's far from perfect. If you adjust one, the other gets misaligned. There is no perfect way as far as I can see (don't know about coding so can't speak at that level).

Also, I have noticed that just when I think the modules are aligned (of the same height), as soon as new articles are added in those categories, they get misaligned again. Obviously some articles will have longer words and some will shorter so the word/character count that you specify in the module is never going to be the perfect solution. Unless there is some way (hard coding??) to specify a fixed length of the module, we will continue to struggle with it.

I really wish someone from Gavick would chime in and help us out or at least tell us to get the heck out of here so we don't waste our time in writing our problems and then waste more time peeking in the forum to see if someone has replied. I expect such shabby support from a one-man company but I honestly thought, based on their web site and very professional templates and extensions, that Gavick was bigger than a one-man show and had some people in its team who were knowledgeable, concerned, and above all, supportive, to their customers. I guess it was my bad to assume that.

Thanks Epik for your help. Let's hope someone is reading it.

Well, first thanks for responding. I had actually given up on any help in this forum.

Now for the url, I am afraid unless all the issues are first taken care of, I don't plan to put it online. The site is being developed on localhost. I will try to put it on some temporary host if possible and then let you know.

In the meantime, if you have any tips or pointers, I sure would welcome them.

Thanks again for stepping in.

So here is the link

http://www.sevenx.gr/theater

You have to notice 2 things

First of all in the middle newsshow module (the white one) the first time you go to the page the height is different after a while it gets resized (not very good behaviour but ...) the second is that if I want to have a news show module that for example have no text to display at all ...how can I make it have the same size as all the others ?

Thanks again

PS (Request ??) One more addition you could do is in the template' s adjustments as you have the option to have the front page without the maincontent ...to be the same for every page that you choose (hope that makes sense)

I have published the site so you can see it now. Module on Top1 and Top2 do not align in the bottom. (I am not using Top3 position).

I have tried everything to change the number of words/characters in both module but cannot get it to align perfectly.

Thanks in advance.
