Plugins not parsed when used in module position. Works fine in content

I've tried a couple plugins just to be certain it wasn't the plugin that was the problem. If I use NSP in a user defined position inside of content, it parse plugins perfectly. If I change the position to one outside of regular content, the plugin code is displayed instead of being parsed.

I'm using News Show Pro GK4 ver. 1.6 under Joomla 1.6.4
