Hello,

Is there a less intensive way to transition from existing Joomla 3.3 site to a Joomla 3.6. This is my prototype version of one of my Joomla 3.3 sites:

News Revision B -- this is a prototype only, starting with News 2(???) to be modified more appropriately for the focus of the new sites created.

It took years of revision of the modules, layouts, and the CSS. I then cloned the prototype to create new sites.

I hope to be able to update them to Joomla 3.6.

Basically what I am asking is the compatibility of directories (i.e., images, templates, modules, others?) between Joomla 3.3 vs. Joomla 3.6, in case I update an existing Joomla 3.3 to Joomla 3.6. Is this possible?

Conversely, if I start with the QuickStart of the Joomla 3.6 News -- what existing directories in the existing Joomla 3.3 website (i.e., images, templates, modules, others?) may just be imported to the a newly installed Joomla 3.6 QuickStart to achieve the same format as this prototype:

News Revision B

Note: I am hesitant to use the "slide module" included in the refreshed Joomla 3.6 News template because my websites do not really contain that much new images. Instead, what I did was to randomize the content presentation, so that when the same visitor revisits the site, most of the dynamic content presented will be quite different from the previous visit.

Hi

If You have a website running already than process should be:

- make a copy of Your website
- update all extensions to the latest version
- update joomla with Joomla Update button or with an update package
- if You have changed template, than use https://www.gavick.com/documentation/ to have all the module settings for as in demo (if You want that of course)
- if everything is ok, move Your copied site in place of the old one
