RSS feed not getting the correct images

Hi.

I am using the News Show Pro GK5 module to display this RSS feed: http://www.islamqav.com/index.php?optio ... ype=rssgeo

You can see the module on my site www.islamnet.no/dev2 with the heading ''IslamQAV – Spørsmål og svar på video''

First I thought there was some error with the feed, so I made a support case with HWD, who have developed the component that's making the feed. His answer was:

Within the feed itself, each item has its own (correct) thumbnail, as shown in this screenshot:

Additionally, if you enter the feed into an online parser, then the thumbnails show correctly for each item. Therefore, I don't know what else I might do.

I haven't used this extension, but I'm assuming it is designed to show an RSS feed in a module position. Does it definitely support Media RSS feeds? You'll need to contact GavickPro for further help. If they say we have a problem with our feed then I'm happy to discuss and look at that issue, but I don't see any problems with the feed output.

Can you please help me solve the issue?

I'm sorry, but I do not understand. The only module named "IslamQAV – Spørsmål og svar på video" is a "Vina RSS News Ticker" not an NSP module. Did I misunderstood something or You've just replaced that ?

I have disabled creating thumbnails for this module. I think the function creating images could not load right image in time since they are an outside source so was using last loaded.

An access to joomla panel I had is not working anymore, but the same solution is an answer here 100%. Make sure You are making changes to correct module. The one You've shown me has an ID 257. Make sure You save the configuration after disabling creating thumbnails and clear browser and joomla cache after.

I've disabled showing responsive images, but the problem is that site it's trying to pick up the article from is broken so it does not see images there but it still remember there were images from before the create thumbnails were enabled. Do You have any control over the broken site to fix it, so it will be able to manage it.

Och, that's bad. That's why it's so important to keep joomla up to date and just in case use some extra protection as a firewall. I often use RSFirewall for that.

Thanx for the advice! Do you think RSFirewall is the best and is enough? Or are there other components/plugins I should install as well?

I'm afraid I've only been using RSFirewall, but if You will follow all the points listed during site scan provided by this component than You can be pretty confident that Your site is secured. It even monitors what users are posting so no potential dangerous scripts can be send to website.

Back to the issue of the images: It is working fine now, but how can make it crop without changing the dimensions as it is doing now?

I'm afraid it will not be possible. The whole trick is that we've disabled processing images since image function could not handle outside source. So to show at all they had to be used as thay came displayed directly from the other website where RSS is taken from.
