Slider on frontpage not showing up

I've done everything according to the documentation and double-checked and the slider (3 images, created by 3 subpages assigned to the 'parent slider page'), will not even show up. I have it turned on and published and set within the Theme Customizer right now so you can maybe see why it's not coming up.
