Hi,

The header image is not showing up on my Quark website build. The header image does not show up in live preview (right window pane) either. Perhaps it is not configured correctly?

Are there permissions that must be changed in a Quark directory? Any configuration settings in Wordpress or on the server side that must be considered?

Some notes:

  • I get the following message when Adding a Header Image:

:!: "While you can crop images to your liking after clicking Add new image, your theme recommends a header height of 0 pixels."

I set the height to "0" as instructed but still no luck.

  • Also note that when I upload my header image, there are no options available in the "Crop Image" window. It just shows a preview of my header including two buttons for 'Skip Cropping' and 'Crop Image' - if I click 'Crop Image' I get the following error:

:!: "There has been an error cropping your image."

I am unsure if any of this is related to the header image not appearing but I thought I'd inform you of what I am seeing on my end. I suspect there are additional configuration settings that are required for the header image function to work correctly.

Further assistance is much appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi,

Are you using the default style of the Quark theme? Did you try to click "'Skip Cropping'" button? The problem is probably caused because of lack of default header image dimensions, let me know which style are you using and I'll check the issue.

Piotr,

Skipped Cropping = Yes
Quark Style = Default
Header Image Dimensions = Default*

* I left the header image settings (Customize > Images) to their default/pre-set sizes. I experimented with different settings and the header image still will not show up. The preview windows (right pane) will update to reflect changes but again, no image will show up.

Do you know if this is related to a Wordpress setting or perhaps something on the server config and large images?

The header image I am using is 1911x667 .jpg. Please let know what the suggested settings would be for an image of the height/width.

Lastly, is there supposed to be a full interface for cropping images? As mentioned, I've only got two options: "Skip Cropping" and "Crop"

Hi,

The default header image size is 1400 x 814, I've checkedn my installation of Quark theme and can't see a problem, could you send me a private message with backend access for your website?

You didn't have Frontpage template used on your website. I've assigned Frontpage template to your "main" page use it as a static frontapge and can't see any problem with the header image (it's enough to click "Skip cropping" button), in the next theme update we'll add the default header image dimensions, so you will be able to crop an image.

** Solved **

Yes Piotr, thank you for the simple solution. This was all user-error on my end. Simple growing pains for me in getting to know and understand the finer details of the theme. ;)
