Hi, team.
We have just launched our website yesterday and we are having a bit of a problem with orders and user registration (meaning clients that want to buy and start making their account on our website).

Here are the issues:
- (in some cases) NO possibility to create an user account from Chrome (the form just refreshes; but it works with IE)
- NO confirmation mail after the account is created (not for us, not for the client)
- NO error display in Chrome (so we don't know what the problem is)
- ERROR when trying to modify the order status (with Notify Shopper)

Also, after order is placed, we still don't receive a confirmation mail (not us, not the client)...

Please be so kind and help as soon as possible :(

Best regards,
Olivia

Hi

For the mail problem You should try to configure SMTP settings in global joomla configuration section for server. For the rest make sure everything is up to date and if it is tell me the url to Your site and send access so I'll be able to check.

Hi, teitbite, just sent a PM.

The Error O in the admin, when trying to modify the Order Status & notify the shopper, returns this:

Error
An error has occurred.
0 Invalid address: Crud si Sanatos
Return to Control Panel

Is this a problem in the Virtuemart configuration? I don't really understand the concept of "Shopper", so I must have configured it wrong...

Awaiting for your reply.

Hi

Looks more like some server issue. Maybe PHP is too old. Anyway start with update to joomla and virtuemart. Using newst version may resolve this issue already. Also configure SMTP in global joomla configuration. Try rise error showing level to maximum so maybe there will be more informations about the error.

If none of the above will work than I'm afraid You will need to ask VM developers for help.

Ok, I will try to do that.

Just one more question, before starting to update Joomla & Virtuemart.
In the past, while updating, I lost all the info on my website and had to configure it all over again.

My question is: IF I update my website, as it is now, to the latest Joomla & Virtuemart, is there ANY possibility that I lose the content on my website or I break it in any way?

Awaiting for your reply, to know what to do next.

Thank you, teitbite, best regards.

P.S. I am past my pregnancy due-date already (it was on the 3rd of December), so I might need a fast reply to still get to do all you said above in good time :)

Hi

Och, congratulations :)

Update should be safe, but if should be safe the last time You did it, so there may be some problems with Your installation and there cannot be 100% saying something won't happen again. I advice to make a copy of the website and try to update it first.
