Hi,
I like to use Override.css instead of writing the custom css is the ‘Advanced Settings/ Custom css code’ in the template – it is easier to see the code.
But when I have the ‘Recompile LESS’ enabled the override.css file is recompiled as well. I thought this file was going to be excluded when less files are recompiled?

Hi

Please disable "Recompile LESS", this option is only to generate css, when You switching template style or want to get back to factory settings. With this option ON You are basically creating all css files again and again. It's pretty bad for server processor so it was not intended to be enabled always.

I just find easier to have it to recompile css when I am customise the css to suit. It is easier to find the snippets of css that has to modified. Of course when the site is going live I will disable it and turn on all the caching.

should add that the issue is if amend some of the .less files and then recompile the to css the override.css is overwritten.
I believe it would be better is the override.css is not 'touched' when recompiling less to css.

Thanks

Hi

Actually recompile is to bring back the "factory settings", so there could me no custom code which may affect the style. That's why override.css has to be wipe.

Hi

Is the code not working or being removed from override.css file. Maybe You just need to enable using override ? Both options: "CSS Override" and "Recompile LESS" can be found in template's configuration. Advanced section.

If your template uses LESS, never edit de CSS files.
Just do your personal edits in override.less which will be recompiled to override.css and no problems.
Once site is all set you can turn off recompile less to save processing time. Just be sure to recomple via template editor if you make any changes to your less files.
