quark - virtuemart zoom function

I have tried storefront theme but most of quark theme provides better front end. The only issue I really need is that our customers will want to see detail zoom of product photos. All of our photos are 2000x2000 and right now they are way too large and cannot zoom:

and the ideal need is to have a zoom effect used where the entire product is visible in standard view but when mouseover a box appears and zoom effect is shown like in your storefront:

Is there a way to do that?

I’m afraid that modifications such as this require extensive changes to the theme’s code; I do apologize but such large changes are custom work that are beyond the scope of our technical support.
