LESS Files not compiling

Quick question: any reason the less files would not be compiling? Whether I set it to always compile the less files or do it manually, nothing.

I update a variable and go to compile but nothing changes.

It's hard to tell without seeing it, but my guess will be than Your server configuration is not allowing to create/modify files by other scripts. Please check that.
