Image Show GK4 - only the first mage/slide appears

When following the instructions on this website to set up the Image show for some reason only the first mage/slide appears. If I enable "Slide Preview" I can see that the other slide is loaded, however neither by using the slider nor the automatic animation can I display the other slides
