New K2 item from frontend

Hello,
I'm modifying Quark to help keep our family recipes. I want to allow registered users to submit recipes from the front end. In K2, I have (I think) activated K2 items for Registered users (Add Items = Yes; Edit Own Items = Yes; etc.), then tried to add the K2 item to the Main Menu (create new menu item linking to K2 item) but I keep getting a 404/403. I've tried other K2 (Item Edit Form, etc.) but none of them bring up a K2 article page.

What am I missing? How does one add a K2 article from the front?

Oh, you can see for yourself at: [url]kitchen.coblentzclan.com[/url]. Select Menu, then one of the the sub-items under Recipes.
