Menu on iPad Mini

I have the menu set to 'classic'. Works great on desktop and obviously shrinks to an icon on smaller screens.

Tap the icon on an iphone and it works great, tap it on an ipad and nothing happens.

Have I missed something?

Which version of iOS are you using? On my iPad Air 2 with iOS 8.1 your menu opens correctly.
