Hi,
I bought your Quark template few days ago and enjoying so much testing and discovering it.
It's really what I was searching for and I love your product and documentation.

I noticed you released an update to 1.01.

I've 2 questions:

1: in the download section, If I download a zip file then check the "templateDetails.xml" file, it says version 1.0
How can I recognize if the version I'm downloading is the 1.0 or the 1.01?

2: I installed the quick start version.
What's the best way to update to 1.0.1 so that I can try and see new features?

Thanks in advance for your time and support.

The easiest way is to replace files via ftp.

There was a small bug in the update - the XML file wasn't replaced - I've fixed that. Regarding the upgrade process - currently the best way is using the FTP and replace all existing files from the changelog.

Have you been able to deal with the update process?

Hi Dziudek,
thanks for your reply.
I'll try to be more specific because I'm not sure I've understood.
I've installed the quick start version of the Quark template.
Now I would like to update to 1.0.1 and at the same time I'd like to see the "new features" as in the demo that is working on your website, without loosing the work I've already done on my website.

I think It's clear to me how to update with FTP all the updated files that you released with "gk_quark_J!3.zip".
But doing this, will not show me the "new" menu and "new" pages you created on the demo, like the gallery... etc.
I'll be able to use the new features, but I will not see the demo pages you already created.

I'm also not sure which is the "changelog" you are referring to. Could you please tell me where can I find it?

So the question is: What's the best way to update the "gk_quark_quickstart_J!3.zip" to 1.0.1, without loosing the work I've already done with the 1.0 quick start version I've installed?

Thanks for your help and patience. :)

Giacomo

Sadly - there is no way of updating with quickstart while some changes was made.
The problem is that quickstart contains entire joomla database dropped to a file which is installed on server during installation.
With the described case I see 2 ways - depending on how many changes you did already:
1. Start over with fresh quickstart (install it locally or in a subfolder etc) and port the changes you made, then replace your current site.
2. Install quickstart locally and port the settings to your "old" installation basing on documentation and working local site.

You might also try to make a diff comparison of both databases - from 1.00 and 1.01 of quickstart and insert the changes manually, but if you are not a mysql/joomla expert this probably will not get you anywhere :(.
