Menu sensitivity

The menu when mouse-over to open second level item, is very sensitive. When you move a just little off it dissapears or starts jumping. I have overlooked this, but now my client and their clients are complaining about it.

How can this be stabalized in a way that it's not so sensitive?

Example - when you mouse-over LIVING, it opens the 2nd level...and unless you move your mouse in a horizontal line and not directly to SOFAS, the menu is gone...

For me this is o'k, but for my clients it's annoying.

Thanks for looking into this and help with a fix.

I can see where the problem lies.
I'll report that to our devteam and will write back as soon as I'll get an answer.

Hi. Sadly - there is no much that can be done. The menu is very specific and like every flyout menu requires to follow patch of parent element to get to child element.
There is an idea to add delay for menu disappearance, but I can't tell if and when it will be done.

Yes, sadly. My client will not be happy about this, I ask you to request the code to delay the disappearance of the fly out menu? I need to give my client a time when this will be done? This is a BUG, and needs to be attended accordingly. Thank you

According our devteam this is not a bug and adding a timed delay is a feature to be implemented in future. No eta as I have mentioned before.

Hello,
I am of the same opinion that the menu is too sensitive!
How about when you click on it surrounded and not on mouseover?
So which one clicks on the main menu and then opens the submenu and it remains open as long until you click something else!

The question is how do you change that?

:) :)

@sakari - we are working on the ideas as we already discussed in other thread (with your brilliant ideas :) ).

Hello to the development team,
I do not know with what conditions the menu is being tested,
but I always make more firmly that this menu if you have many issues is really useless!
I once made the effort to show you it with graphic animation as it proceeds at a normal user! (with animated GIF files)
Bad it is if still want to install a sub-submenu, then you do not get to the third menu on it!

I always find your work very qualitative and with a sophisticated design,
but I ask you to change this menu choice or better yet offer a second version!

Many Thanks

:) :)

When one moves nice and slow the mouse to the right, it's all good!

Oops, if you want to go to the very same first from the submenu,
then you really pitch, you come to another submenu!

What a third submenu? This is so, not at all !!

I second, or third or whatever that! Everyone i show the page to does this first:

1) clicks on the MENU
2) starts chasing the disappearing menu
3) looks at me with a silent question

I can see where the problem lies.
I'll report that to our devteam and will write back as soon as I'll get an answer.

From this date the problem is not yet solved.
This is my first template purchased from Gavick and I think will be the last.
Bad seriousness and bad service for the customer who pays.

as an improvement?
So Gavickpro works this way. When (if) a basic defect is deleted, you "improve the template." All right!!

@erminio - its not a basic defect. Many users used this template and didn't have any issues. And that is true as long as menu is only one leveled.
I have talked to dev team and there is a possible improvement pointing the issue. Please replace /templates/gk_photo/js/gk.menu.js wit attached one and let me know if that helped.

Almost ok!
Submenu is slightly more stable than before!
Sub-sub-menu, so third level, no possibility to reach it,
if you as a third level only one or two left has! (follow the arrows in the example below)

menu-folgen.jpg

If the left are close enough, then you can achieve sub-submenu good!
menu-folgen2.jpg

A second menu option is required if one has many themes!

Yes has improved!
And the sub-sub-menu now works!
But in spite of everything, that is not the perfect solution!
A second variant of the menu would be very helpful if there were!

Thank you :)

Doing a quick fix is much easier than implementing new feature. But new type of menu is marked as "to do", just no eta yet.

Hi, I am having similar issues - is there a fix yet?

http://dnapropertyimprovements.co.uk/

If you go to the menu - gallery - landscaping and then try to select fencing it is almost impossible!

I have tried replacing the gk.menu.js but that didnt work for me.

Thanks
