rookie question

Hi, and beautiful template! I installed Writer with the quick start package and am trying to understand how it works. But for the life of me, I can't create a new K2 item that will take the place of "Full Screen images in post". If I duplicate "Full Screen images in post" and modify it, it will show up on the home page as expected since it's the newest K2 article. But if I create a K2 item from scratch, I can never get it to appear on the home page. Only in "blog mode". What am I missing? Thanks for helping a newcomer to Joomla.

Probably the problem is with module that shows elements on homepage - it loads articles from specified categories. Please check modules - news show pro and image show.

Hi, am I right that the module you're talking about is "Frontpage mode I"? I don't see a place to change settings for just News Show or Image Show. In the Frontpage mode I settings, I can't see that any categories are specified. I wish I knew what the difference was between a modified duplicate of an existing K2 item, and a brand new K2 item.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that the problem "solved itself" so far... after a night's sleep, the new article appeared as expected. I imagine something with either a browser cache maybe? Should have tried that first. Is that a common issue when building and testing a site?

It was either browser cache or timezone wrongly set in Joomla/server/one of the modules.
Ps. You can filter out modules by not only their name visible in modules manager, but also by type - this way you can filter out only news show pro or images show modules.

Yes, I meant to come back yesterday and say that this was exactly the issue. I'm in Hong Kong right now, and so I have set the offset for any module that collects K2 articles to +12. So Frontpage mode I, New Posts, etc. I might have realized this sooner except that I didn't start working on this site until I was already here. So I didn't have anything to compare it to! Now all works as expected. I have already gotten a compliment on the clean, modern look of my site, so nice work.
